What is Còmhla?
Còmhla is a two year National Lottery funded project in partnership with An Talla Solais (Ullapool Visual Arts); Ullapool Museum; Ullapool and District Youth Group and Loch Broom Community Trust. Our aims are:
- To develop joint ways of working and co-production of projects which are commissioned by our community
- To reach all of our community through involvement with grass roots organisations
- To better understand and track the varied and inspiring output of our community and support projects that matter to the area
- To build a connected and supportive network of organisations who can work together to serve the community
How will we do this?
- The core project team will meet regularly and track the project
- The lead project partners will attend and chair a bi-monthly Wellness Group which disseminates project initiatives in area of wellness, and shares findings and best practise. Attendees come from Ullapool’s school; local government; and community groups
- The key project partners will invite wider involvement from the community and grass roots organisations by inviting them to project meetings and sharing the opportunities with them
- A skills and resources survey will be carried out by the Còmhla project so that the communities assets can be understood
- LUCT will refresh their survey into community concerns so that we have up to date information on what matters to the groups we want to engage with
